Only a few studies have compared mortality between MRSA pneumonia and non-MRSA pneumonia; one showed a trend toward higher in-hospital mortality among MRSA pneumonia patients [ 3 ], whereas another showed that MRSA infection did not affect intensive care unit (ICU) mortality or in-hospital mortality in patients with ventilator-associated pneumonia [ 4 ].
