Interestingly, whereas 10% CO 2 had no effect on cued and context fear memory in Asic1a –/– mice, there was a strong trend toward a decrease in NOR in Asic1a –/– mice, suggesting that ASIC1A might mediate the fear conditioning, but not object recognition memory.
