Why not present the linear estimate? If the continuous linear response to change in cut-in speed fits better than the categorical, even if the slope of the coefficient is only marginally significant (with low power), then that’s an indicator that there is a ‘marginally significant’ linear relationship with fatality reduction and cut-in speed?
