Our study confirmed, however, that follow-up D‐dimer assessment might improve DVT risk estimation [ 6 ] as a significant trend of increase in DVT frequency over rising control D‐dimer categories was observable and significant difference in proportion of asymptomatic DVT patients could be observed when patients were stratified at the > 1.5 mg/L FEU control D‐dimer cut-off level.
