In parallel, one metabolite, kynurenate, was associated with AD in males after Bonferroni correction ( p < 8.17 × 10 −4 ) (β = −1.04, 95% CI = −1.58 to −0.54, p = 7.63 × 10 −5 ) ( Table 2 ) and 100 of 230 metabolites showed nominally significant associations in males ( Supplementary Table S1 ).
