The sentences
From 1997 to 2017, the CO 2 emissions of coal consumption in the North, East, Northeast, and Northwest regions showed an increasing trend year by year; the main energy consumption in these regions was coke and crude besides coal.
However, in the Mid-South and Southwest, coal consumption and CO 2 emissions showed a trend of first increasing and then decreasing, and both began to decline in 2013.
