However, the pooled estimate data of COVID-19-associated ARDS either using the ARDS criteria (risk ratio 0.92, 95% CI 0.76–1.11) and data from mechanically ventilated patients (risk ratio 0.89, 95% CI 0.71–1.12) did not reach statistical significance for 28-day mortality in the random-effects model.
