We further conducted the stratified analysis by BMI and waist circumference, overall, low STB was associated with a decrease of T2D risk in different strata, although the associations of STD with T2D in population with normal/over-weight (BMI < 30) central obesity did not reach statistical significance (Additional file 1 : Table S4).
