Although this effect did not reach statistical significance in jejunum, both jejunum and duodenum retained a relatively higher VA concentration in later hours, suggesting that the observed positive regulatory effect of RA on intestinal VA uptake acted primarily on these major VA absorption sites and that RA stimulated another round of VA absorption in later hours after VA supplementation.
