Robertson [ 8 ] presented CPT and DMT data from published records and showed a trend between I D and I c , so it can be defined using the following relationship: (15) I D = 10 ( 1.67 − 0.67 · I c ) A comparison of readings from nearby in-situ test profiles at the same depth is shown in Figure 14 and reveals considerable scatter due to differences in soil stratigraphy and consistency, as many sites are not uniform.
