A recent study reported that diffractive extended depth of focus IOLs showed statistically significantly better uncorrected visual acuity (VA) compared with monofocal control; however, these differences were modest at best (1–2 letters for manifest refractive spherical equivalents within 1.0 D between groups and approaching borderline statistical significance) and hence, it is difficult to conclusively report if they are clinically meaningful [ 93 ].
