Levels of CD5L did not predict the clinical outcome of the patients but plasma levels were lower in those worsening than in those with improved or steady clinical course (mean ± SEM 14.07 ± 2.31 vs 16.08± 1.73 or 15,67 ± 0.96 μg/ml), although differences did not reach statistical significance ( Supplementary Figures 2D, E ).
