Although there was no statistically significant difference in total costs in advanced stage patients, there was a positive trend of increased costs in matched comparison patients with three or more comorbidities versus ENACT participants with three or more comorbidities ( p = .18).
22 Although the observed cost differences did not reach statistical significance, a post‐hoc power analysis suggests that a future study with a sample size of 150 advanced cancer patients would yield 80% statistical power for detecting statistical significance for the observed difference between ENACT participants and matched comparisons, setting significance at an alpha of 0.05.
