A sub-analysis focusing on studies detecting CMV by pp65 antigenemia and/or CMV DNAemia only included five SOT studies (covering the period 2005–2020) and showed a trend toward a benefit of CMVIG (with four of five studies having a lower rate of CMV infection in the CMVIG group compared to the control group), albeit not statistically significant.
