The first study revealed that coastal regions have a higher level of risk due to more favorable conditions for the transmitting vectors and that future projection of CL until 2060 showed a trend of increasing incidence of CL in the Northwestern part of the country; a spread along the coastal region and a possible emergence of new endemic areas in the Northeastern districts of the country were highlighted as well.
