In such a situation, a reduction in repolarizing currents can further depolarize the resting membrane potential, as has been found for rapid delayed rectifier potassium current (I Kr ) reduction [ 40 ] and I Ks blockade by 10 μM chromanol 293B [ 41 ], although the latter did not reach statistical significance due to the low number of cells measured.
