Delayed capillary refill time, a clinical sign of shock, was associated with severe AKI in malaria (OR 1.91 (95% CI 1.04 to 3.51), p = 0.04) but did not reach statistical significance among children with NMFI (OR 1.79 (95% CI 0.68 to 4.72), p = 0.24).
