A previous study reported a significant trend between low DVS and low intakes of legumes, green-yellow vegetables, fruits, and eggs, and significant trends between lower intakes of energy, protein and fat and lower DVS. 17 In addition, the group with DVS ≤2 had a significantly higher odds ratio with frailty when referenced to groups with DVS ≥5. 17 It was also reported that a group with DVS ≤2 was significantly related to lower lean mass and grip strength in Japanese elderly. 14 We categorized DVS ≤2 as “low”.
