A total of 1966 papers were published in the selected period with a positive trend over the years and with mycotoxins representing the most abundant class ( n = 1122), followed by alkaloids ( n = 459), marine toxins ( n = 244), and to a lesser extent glycoalkaloids ( n = 22), furocoumarins ( n = 10) and cyanogenic glycosides ( n = 9) ( Figure 2 ).
