Those with LVH had higher average systolic blood pressure at the visit (174 mm Hg vs 156 mm Hg, p=0.002) and were less likely to have blood pressure categorised as <140/90 (0 vs 13.2%) and more likely to have systolic blood pressure ≥160 and/or diastolic blood pressure ≥100 mm Hg (72.2% vs 44.7%), although differences by blood pressure category did not reach statistical significance ( table 4 ).
