Mepolizumab, an anti-IL-5 mAb recently approved for severe eosinophilic asthma, was tested in a pilot study for AD but did not reach statistical significance in SCORing Atopic Dermatitis (SCORAD) score, pruritus scoring, and TARC levels despite decreasing the peripheral blood eosinophilic count ( 90 ).
