After stratifying by periods of folic acid supplementation, slightly significant associations were observed for those who took supplements before conception and during pregnancy ( OR : 0.78, 95% CI : 0.59–1.03) or during pregnancy only ( OR : 0.80, 95% CI : 0.65–0.99), and significant duration of dose-responses for folic acid supplements were observed for both ( p for trend <0.001 and <0.001).
