This has not been directly assessed in these animals, but a trend toward a higher weight of the MG was observed in the WD rats compared with the controls (a 20% increase), although the results did not reach statistical significance ( p = 0.110, Mann–Whitney U-test). miR-222 levels in the MG were also increased in WD animals but were normalized in animals of the Rev group.
