Although the change in motile sperm count did not reach statistical significance ( P = 0.1), we observed that the number of individuals with a very low motile sperm count (<1 million per ejaculate) was reduced from 6 out of 47 before the intervention to 1 out of 47 after the 8-week low-calorie diet ( P < 0.05) ( Fig. 2 ).
