In the subgroup analysis by study type, both the cohort study (OR = 0.95, 95% CI: 0.85–1.07, Figure 4A ) and the case-control study (OR = 0.81, 95% CI: 0.63–1.05, Figure 4A ) showed a trend of β-carotene to reduce the risk of CRC, but none of them were significantly associated.
