However, when individual outcomes were assessed, sotagliflozin did not reach statistical significance in lowering the rate of CV death (10.6 in the sotagliflozin group vs. 12.5 in the placebo; HR, 0.84; 95% CI, 0.58–1.22); this may be ascribed to inadequate power of the trial due to loss of funding and early termination.
