Introduction There is considerable agreement that a positive reading attitude positively influences reading outcomes, although the literature claims that when students grow older and move on to middle or high school, reading attitude decreases ( McKenna et al., 2012 ) and could affect reading achievement ( Petscher, 2010 ; Woolly, 2011 ), thus furthering a negative trend.
