Therefore, although strictly speaking we could not affirm or deny that FSS is inferior to the conventional technique for the treatment of initial cervical cancer, we cannot forget that there was a clear trend toward a decrease in the DFS when we applied the experimental technique, especially for tumour sizes of more than 2 cm.
