In a pilot study, it was demonstrated TBUT values were insignificantly lower in 73% of KC patients and Schirmer-I test values were lower but the difference was slightly significant.[ 8 ] In another study, corneal sensitivity was evaluated by corneal esthesiometry, the tear film was investigated by Schirmer-I test and TBUT in KC patients.[ 26 ] In this study, researchers showed that corneal sensitivity and Schirmer-I test significantly lower in KC patients but there was no significant difference in TBUT between KC patients and healthy subjects.
