Major medical complications (OR 1.15, 95% CI 0.97–1.36, p = 0.114), surgical complications (OR 1.09, 95% CI 0.93–1.29, p = 0.282), embolic complications (OR 1.27, 95% CI 0.77–2.07, p = 0.797), renal (OR 1.72, 95% CI 0.92–3.22, p = 0.091) and sepsis (OR 1.19, 95% CI 0.87–1.63, p = 0.284) trended towards a higher risk for smokers but did not reach statistical significance (Table 3 ).
