We found a trend, after adjustment for age and sex, of lower LPS2a- and LPS1b-specific IgA and IgG in children infected with Shigella and dysentery than in those with Shigella without dysentery and children with diarrhea from other causes, although the difference did not reach statistical significance ( Fig. 4B and C ).
