Patients with arrhythmia in the present study were older than those patients without arrhythmia, and showed a trend toward an impaired renal function, a hyperinflammatory/infectious status, an altered coagulative balance, an impaired myocardial propagation of electrical impulse, and subtle myocardial damage, irrespectively of lung degree involvement.
