Although several studies showed a trend toward clinical benefit with adjuvant RT after gross total resection, the small number of patients evaluated, different WHO criteria for defining atypical meningiomas over the last decades, and the retrospective nature of published studies preclude any meaningful conclusion on whether adjuvant RT improves outcomes over nonirradiated patients.
