In cancer site stratified analyses, we found a strong trend towards higher rates of digestive organ cancer, breast cancer, skin cancer, urinary tract cancer and cancer of lymphoid and hematopoietic tissue in patients with HDL values < 35 mg/dl as well as a negative association between total cholesterol > 250 mg/dl and respiratory organ as well as urinary tract cancer.
