The main findings of our study are as follows: (1) patients in the MA/EA group had a shorter time to complete recovery, and clinical outcomes at 12 weeks were more favorable in these patients than in those who did not receive acupuncture in the acute phase and (2) the effect of acupuncture in the acute phase of BP showed a trend that was better than those who did not on reducing the occurrence of sequelae.
