The sentences

It has previously been suggested that injection of an artificial CCR2 ligand (recombinant MCP-1) to attract monocytes to the peritoneal cavity at the time of surgery can reduce adhesion formation in mice, however the effect did not reach statistical significance ( 11 ) and MCP-1/CCL2 is not specific for monocytes but also attracts memory T lymphocytes and natural killer (NK) cells ( 37 ).
