ANOVA revealed a strong trend toward a group–time interaction for daily steps ( P = 0.053, ή 2 = 0.20), with post hoc tests indicating a significant increase in physical activity in the LOW-HIIT group from 4937 ± 811 to 6171 ± 895 steps·per day (+1233 steps per day, 95% CI, 153–2620 steps·per day; P = 0.037), and (nonsignificant) reduction in step count in the SHAM group (8417 ± 991 to 7336 ± 812 steps per day, P = 0.263).
