Intriguingly, the number of CD68+/PD-L1+/CK-/CD163- sTAMs in the stromal area did not affect the recurrence rate, whereas that of CD163+/PD-L1+/CK- sTAMs, which are assumed to have potential as M2 macrophages, showed a trend toward poor prognosis, although the difference was not statistically significant.
