Male patients had lower levels of blood HDL-cholesterol (56.0 mg/dL in women, 44.3 mg/dL in men; P < 0.001) and higher levels of glucose in blood (89.8 mg/dL in women, 104.3 mg/dL in men; P = 0.001) and showed a trend to arterial hypertension compared to female patients (40% of women, 50% of men; P = 0.076) ( Figure 4 ).
