This analysis showed a significant sex by reappraisal interaction for all scales of the EDEQ: the total scale (b = − 0.15, p < 0.001), eating concern (b = − 0.03, p < 0.001), shape concern (b = − 0.12, p = 0.002) and weight concern (b = − 0.13, p = 0.001), suggesting that the association between reappraisal use and eating psychopathology is stronger in females than males for all aspect of eating psychopathology, but that it was probably not significant due to other significant predictors explaining more of the variance in the models with all emotion predictors.
