The step test is the most intuitive and simple exercise test for assessing cardiorespiratory fitness ( 37 ), our previous RCT found that 12-week Baduanjin training could significantly increase the step test index of college students ( 18 ), while current RCT did not draw the similar findings, but we found the step test index in the Baduanjin training group were increased by an average of 1.7 from baseline to 12-week post-intervention, while it was decreased by 2.3 in the control group, and the comparison between groups was nearly statistically significant ( P = 0.07).
