Following SARS-CoV-2 exposure, a highly significant early increase by 3 dpi in activated CCR6 + γδ T cells was observed in the IT/IN exposure group comprising of monofunctional CCR6 + cells and CXCR3-coexpressing polyfunctional cells (Fig. 4b , Supplementary Fig. 5 ), suggesting enrichment of Th17-type effector functionality.
