A comparison of 3-year cumulative risk of major toxic effects of treatment revealed that high-risk infants had a trend toward a lower incidence of asparaginase allergic reactions, osteonecrosis, hyperglycemia, and pancreatitis when compared with high-risk patients who were ≥1 year of age which did not reach statistical significance; in contrast, the incidence of thrombosis, hepatic toxicity, and seizures, was similar in high-risk patients regardless of age ( supplemental Table 2 ).
