The association remained significant after adjusting for the confounding influence of gender, BMI, existing health conditions, occupation, and nationality for those who indicated trusting the information provided by apps and websites (OR 24.85 95%CI: 4.97–124.27) but did not reach statistical significance for those who are often on a diet or count calories to choose food.
