A strong trend for a higher fraction of committed adipocyte precursors was observed in flow-sorted APC populations from the low n6/n3 consuming litters, with no change in total cell numbers (p = 0.06, Figure 3 A panel 3), indicating that a ready pool of preadipocytes exists.
