Across quartiles, the ORs (95% CI) were 1.00, 0.98 (0.76, 1.26), 1.33 (1.01, 1.75), and 1.52 (1.13, 2.04) for the animal-based methionine intake, and 1.00, 1.12 (0.91–1.38), 1.26 (0.99–1.60), and 1.52 (1.14–2.02) for the plant-based methionine intake in model 2; the positive associations were attenuated and became only marginally significant after further adjusting for dietary patterns, BMI, and hypertension status. 3.3.
