At a low level of O 2 , the photorespiration rate (P r ) and the ratio of photorespiration/gross photosynthetic rate (P r /P g ) in seedling leaves were lower than in sapling leaves when both were exposed to 1,200 μmol·m −2 ·s −1 PFD, but this difference did not reach statistical significance ( P < 0.05).
