Subjects with serum 25(OH)D concentrations of below 20 ng/mL, and a PTH level of above 76 pg/mL showed a trend for a higher percentage change in BMD at 12 months in all skeletal regions in the high-dose group compared to the low dose group, which reached significance only in the total hip at 12 months [ 26 ].
