In addition, a meta-analysis of 14 RCTs showed consumption of fish, especially fatty fish, was associated with a moderately significant reduction in plasma triglycerides levels [mean difference (MD): −0.11 mmol/L; 95% CI: −0.18, 0.04] and an increase in high-density lipoprotein (HDL) levels (MD: 0.06 mmol/L; 95% CI: 0.02, 0.11) ( 74 ).
