Interestingly, the scaffolds adsorbed with either 4 μg BMP-2 or 2 μg PDGF-BB showed less MPO (as an indicator for neutrophils) and iNOS (as an indicator for pro-inflammatory macrophages) staining; albeit, this did not reach statistical significance due to the relatively low sample size ( Figure S4 ).
